MBA Lounge to connect you with the business community

MBA Lounges are priviliged settings for companies to speak to the International MBA class alone, and dedicate their time to the individual participants. On a dedicated day visit on campus, the invited company presents its activity, business challenges and possible careers opportunities. Participants present themselves, their career goal, and lead the discussion.

A typical MBA Lounge scheduled is as follows:

  • Class presentation by the class itself
  • Company Presentation: company executives (HR Contact + Field Manager) present their organisation to the MBA Class focusing on the companies’ activities, corporate culture and job opportunities. The company’s presentation will be followed by a Q&A Session.
  • Lunch with MBA participants
  • Interviews: companies are provided with facilities to conduct interviews of interesting profiles.

Here are a few companies that participated in the MBA Lounges:
- International Flavors and Fragrances Inc. with the HR Manager
- AMAZON with the Operations Director based in Paris and the Operations Recruiter based in Luxembourg
- L’OREAL with the Talent Sourcing Europe Director
- ACCENTURE with the Geographic Services Lead, Belgium, France, Luxemburg, Mauritius, The Netherlands

  • What Swaminathan, Indian graduate, says about the MBA Lounge:

Another opportunity to meet companies is  the “Expert Panel” sessions

Conferences held by external speakers from October to June. The speakers can be experts, professionals or alumni. They present their companies and professions and give insights on how to network and get useful contacts.

Conferences are generally followed by informal cocktails with the speakers and EMLYON staff, a great way to build a network.

Each session evolves around one theme, for example:
- French recruiters
- Getting a job in the consulting industry
- Head hunters tips
- Salaries and Negociation
- International Recruitment Firms
- Doing business in Asia
- Doing business in India
