Before officially starting their classes on emlyon business school’s Asian campus in Shanghai, MSc in International Hospitality Management students had the unique opportunity to benefit from a dedicated hospitality week during which students met with industry professionals, toured exceptional hotels and restaurants and developed their network on the Asian market!

After an introduction to emlyon business school’s Asian campus by Professor Ian Tovey and a special conference, the students split into two different groups and started their special hospitality week. From touring the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, the Shangri-La, the Peninsula, the Fairmont Peace Hotel as well as the Grand Kempinski, the Four Seasons Pudong and the Ritz-Carlton Pudong, to meeting top chefs and discovering highly ranked restaurants, the students truly had an exceptional hospitality experience.

This special week allowed them to get a first feel for what the hospitality industry within the Asian market entails and discover the hot spots of Shanghai. To complete this unique experience, students also went on a sunset stroll to Nanjing Lu & the Bund Promenade, “the best vantage point for photographing the city's river-side scene, the modern skyscrapers of Pudong across the Huangpu River and of course, the many iconic landmarks that line The Bund “ according to the Waldorf Astoria Hotel located in Shanghai. They also discovered the Super Brand Mall, a major shopping center in Shanghai.
