The programme starts with general management classes at EMLYON Business School's European Campus in Lyon, France in September. Specific courses on management within the luxury industry starts in November and from January on those courses are provided in Switzerland. As the luxury industry by nature is very international, students need to discover the specifics of each business environment. After your time in Europe, you will spend a semester in Shanghai, China, to experience the Asian luxury business environment as well. To help you gain practical experience, the programme also includes a 4-month internship, which the school will help you find.
EMLYON's internationally renowned faculty members, most of whom have industry experience, will account for the large majority of the academic courses. In addition you will learn from industry experts directly. By having direct access to these specialists, you will learn more about the real-life challenges in this high-profile business.
Throughout the year, various company visits and seminars are organised, but the contact with the business community does not stop there. You will be invited to participate in different Careers Days, where companies come to the campus to recruit future managers and high-quality interns.
An integral part of the learning process is the in-company internship and the business project. This is a great opportunity to put your academic knowledge to the test, and acquire tangible experience within the industry. The school will give you all the support and tools you need to find the right internship for you.
The luxury market, while continuously strengthening in rich countries, is experiencing a strong development in newly industrialised countries such as China, Russia, Arabian Gulf. With one of the highest standard of living in the world and many leading luxury companies established in its territory, Switzerland has naturally become a prominent luxury centre, thus justifying the creation of a MSc in this sector.
