The first steps into the MSc in Sports Industry Management

After their Opening Ceremony on Monday September 9th, the students of the MSc in Sports Industry Management traveled to Annecy for their Orientation Week which was organised in close collaboration with Outdoor Sports Valley, the programme’s partner. During 5 days, the students met with specific companies of the sports industry, participated in many outdoor activities and took the time to know each other before starting classes.

Their week started off with an introduction to Outdoor Sports Valley, a Stand Up Paddle Session on the shores of the Annecy Lake and an evening jog around the city with the Good People Run group. The next day, the students visited different brand showrooms, went hiking in the outskirts of Annecy and attended a dinner organised by the team of Outdoor Sports Valley. This dinner which took place in a traditional restaurant in downtown Annecy was a great opportunity for the new intake to get to know Programme Director Pascal Aymar and meet with three programme alumni who shared their experience. During the dinner, a student from last year's intake advised the incoming cohort to "take full advantage of this programme as it really is a life-changing experience". The students also visited the internationally renowned sportswear company Salomon and attended the Red Bull Elements event in Talloires, a city located on the Annecy Lake.

Just like the out-going cohort, the students of this year’s intake are passionate about sports and they are all looking forward to beginning the academic portion of the programme in both France and China.
