Take a look back at this year’s luxury week in Shanghai

Just like every year, MSc in Luxury Management & Marketing students attend an orientation week once they arrive on emlyon business school’s Shanghai campus called the luxury week.

The luxury week includes different company visits and presentations and is meant to give students a first glimpse of the Asian luxury business environment and its current challenges.  It’s also a good opportunity for students to increase their professional network and discover other luxury trends and sectors.

After attending a welcome speech given by Aude Hazard, Associate Dean of emlyon business school’s Shanghai campus, students had the opportunity to visit the Shanghai museum. To get a closer look at the luxury industry in China, Programme Director Michel Phan organized a visit of the Shang Xia Maison, where students benefited from a company presentation by brand representatives during which they learned about the finest Chinese design traditions.

On top of that, students also had the unique opportunity to meet high-end representatives of different international companies with headquarters based in China including Royal Caribbean Cruises International, Supermodel Fit and Movimoda. They also met with Pablo Mauron, Managing Director China & Partner of the Digital Luxury Group.

Not only did attending company presentations allow students to broaden their spectrum within the international sphere of the luxury industry but it also allowed them to learn more about different sponsor companies hosting In-Company Projects for the Shanghai semester and meet some of their future mentors!  Supermodel Fit, Movimoda and the Digital Luxury Group are three companies which will have the pleasure of setting consultancy projects for some of this year’s MSc in Luxury Management & Marketing students during their time in China.
